What is Co-axial cable and type

                    Co-axial Cable

→ It is two an example of Guided Media for connecting two or more devices at the same time the coaxial cable covers larger area compare to twisted pair cable it consisted of solid wire cover known as conductor and the conductor uses insulator for protecting etc.

The above of insulator wire mesh(metallic wire) is used for connecting two or more resources at the same time. It is suitable for high speed communication and wide used in television communication.

                     Application of co-axial cable

=> The coaxial cable is a versatile transmission medium used in wide variety of applications the most important of those are:-

  • • Television distribution
  • • Long distance telephone transmission
  • • Local area network
  • • Sort distance computer run.

Type of co-axial cable

There are two types of coaxial cable

1. thick net coaxial cable

2. Thin net coaxial cable

1. What is thick net coaxial cable

-> This type of coaxial cable is also covered radio guide 8 (RG-8). It covers 5 meters of each therefore RG-8 is based on 10 base 5.

RG-8, 10 BASE(500M) 5, OR THICK NET CABLE

2. What is thin net coaxial cable

-> According to its name it is not superior from thick net. Therefore, the length is required for communication is 200M only.

According to this property thin net coaxial cable is said to be 10 base 2. It is also called Radia guide 58(RG-58).

RG-58, 10(10mb/s) BASE 2(200M), thin net cable

Connector

è A BNC Connector (bayonet neil-concelman)

Advantages of co-axial cable

·     It carrys both digital and analog signals.

·     It uses dureable plastic coat to cover copper wire then co-axial cavle is more dveable for wiring in over surface(Area).

·     It carries television signals therefore television transmission is used for communication.
